FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I know that my current hiring process needs improving? If you have any concerns with turnover, patient satisfaction, or CNA performance, then HealtHire’s assessment process can add value to your organization.
  • Is HealtHire expensive? Our pricing is comparable to other assessments in the marketplace but only HealtHire has an assessment specifically designed for hiring CNAs.  Plus, with average costs associated with CNA turnover at $3500, you cannot afford to not utilize HealtHire's CNASelect process.
  • Is it worth the money to pay for an assessment for a lower-level job? The direct cost of replacing one CNA has been reported by Nursing Administration at more than $3500.  Saving just a few turnovers a year more than justifies the cost of the CNASelect process.  Additionally, CNA negligence, misbehavior and poor performance is more likely to lead to a major lawsuit.  Most Importantly, patient satisfaction is directly correlated to the relationship between a patient and their CNA.  How important is your patient satisfaction rating?
  • Is it true that CNA’s leave primarily to make more money at another facility instead of the hiring match just being a bad “fit”?  It has been shown that CNA’s will often stay in a position they LIKE even if the pay isn’t as high as a competing facility.
  • Is the HealtHire process time consuming?  The CNASelect process takes only 85 minutes to complete.  Moreover, it saves the HR interviewer’s time because you only interview those candidates that show true potential.
  • Do we still need the CNASelect process even if we have an interview format that we like?  Yes.  The CNASelect process provides an in-depth look at 20 core competencies.  Even a two-hour interview will not provide this level of detailed insight.
  • Is the online assessment intimidating to applicants?  An administrator will assist the applicant with getting online and ready to take the test.  The assessment is written on a sixth grade reading level, so most applicants will be able to understand it easily.
  • Will requiring applicants to take an online assessment hurt our recruiting efforts?  An applicant’s willingness to go through the assessment process is a good indicator of someone who really wants to work at your facility.  People who aren’t willing to expend the effort for the assessment are unlikely to be good, long-term employees for your facility.
  • Do we still need the assessment even if we have a lot of applicants waiting to fill empty CNA spots?  Yes.  Our selection process helps you make the best choice among available applicants.
  • What makes the CNASelect process better than other healthcare online or paper and pencil assessments?  The CNASelect process was developed specifically for CNAs, and because it is the only such process specifically for CNAs, it is more useful than competitive products. The CNASelect process assesses 20 key dimensions of CNA performance.
